200 MILES

We are so proud of Chris for biking in the MS 150 again this year.  This is his ninth year, but third year for doing the century route which is 100 miles each day rather than “just” 75 miles each day.  This is a nationwide event that raises money for Multiple Sclerosis research and for those affected by MS.  We met him at the finish line both yesterday and today to cheer him in.  It is so neat to stand at the finish with several others and cheer and applaud those that ride in.  Even some with MS are at the finish line shouting “thank you” from their wheelchairs and cheering the riders in.  It’s a pretty neat experience.

We also had a busy weekend with the beginning of Upwards soccer season.  This year Johanna and Elijah are playing with Chris assistant coaching each of their teams (although with the MS150 he missed their first games).  This is Elijah’s first time to play an organized sport and he is loving it.

Benjamin spent ALL day yesterday (7:30AM to 8:30PM) with our friends at an area steam engine show and all afternoon there today as well.  He was so excited about it and learned so much.  It was a great hands-on science weekend for him, right up his alley.

To round the weekend out we had multiple church activities on Friday evening and today.  Needless to say we are all a bit exhausted and ready for a break.  So the principal and teacher of Wolfe Cub School made an executive decision to call off school tomorrow.  Chris will sleep in (hopefully the kids will too) and we’ll enjoy breakfast and some family time tomorrow before he heads in to work a bit late tomorrow.  Chris trained quite well to prepare for this weekend, but he is understandably tired tonight!
