Fuzhou to Guangzhou

Chris here, since Jocelyn is already sacked out for the night.  So this will probably be a bit shorter post than you are used to, and it definitely won’t be as mushy… =D  Everyone is tired, as we were up early today to catch our flight to Guangzhou, our last city to be in to finalize more of the adoption arrangements.  I’d like to thank the makers of Dramamine, as Elijah kept everything down all during the flight (and the rest of the day!).  We got here right around lunch time today, got settled, got McD’s, caught a couple naps, then went for a walk around a park that’s nearby.  China is getting ready for their New Year celebration (January 26th), so we are seeing lots of lights getting hung and flowers being decorated at these parks.  It sounds like things kinda grind to a halt during their two-week New Year festival, so we are glad we’ll be pulling out to head home before then.  I think everyone here traditionally travels home during that time so you can imagine what that does for the airlines.

This is the city where most if not all adoptions (maybe just foreign ones) are finalized, so this is where we finally get to be around more English speakers again.  We have caught up with all the other families in our travel group that we haven’t met yet (since we went directly to Shepherd’s Field after arriving in Beijing), and it sounds like we were scattered across many of the provinces here in China to get our children.  Lots of stories to share of God’s providence in so many lives!

Personally, I’ve been highly anticipating the all-you-can-eat breakfast bar they have here at the hotel (we stayed here when we came for Ami)… it is quite awesome!  They truly know how to cater to us Americans. =D

Yeah! We’re glad you’re on the final stretch – I know you guys must be ready just to be HOME by now. But it’s fun to see you enjoying everything there too. Elijah was probably thankful to Dramamine too! He and Benjamin look like they are having lots of fun together… the mischief meter in the Wolfe household is heading up, I can tell! (^-^)
