I am wonderfully exhausted! This day has exceeded our expectations in about every way. Elijah is just SUPER, wonderful, amazing, a joy, full of life, and so much more. It is hard to put into words right now what I am feeling and thinking. I’ll start with when we met Elijah, and then backtrack to cover our day getting here.
We arrived at PHF shortly before Elijah got out of school and got settled in our rooms. We didn’t have to wait long before we saw Elijah walking across the courtyard to the Inn. The kids were just giddy with excitement when they saw him through the window. He came in with a huge smile on his face and hugged us all very readily, even picking Ami up. He called us Baba and Mama immediately. It all seemed quite natural, like we had known him forever. It was more like a reunion than an introduction to each other. Wow, thank you God!
We ate dinner together here at the Inn and just enjoyed some family time together playing games, opening gifts, and communicating as much as we could. Elijah seems very much at ease, not anxious at all. At supper he was trying to get drinks for everyone, setting the table and basically taking care of us. He ate quickly, then got up to start doing the dishes, then headed up to the desk and got out his school work! He is too sweet! Hopefully he will let us start taking care of HIM!
I want to write so much more, but my brain is too tired right now. Chris is in the boys room and I am hearing laughter and joy from under the covers where Benjamin and Elijah are. The boys are in matching pajamas (thank you G and G!) and are quite the pair. Chris will post pictures and I will write more tomorrow. My heart is very full. We give Him all the praise and glory for this miracle that has happened in this small corner of the world today. I can’t wait for tomorrow! Thank you for all your prayers for this special day, it was INCREDIBLE!!
