Saturday our three oldest got to race cars as part of their scout programs, and they all came away with awards! Michaela and Johanna are in American Heritage Girls, and they had a Powder Puff Race. In addition to the race for fastest car, they had contests for Most Creative, Most Creative Use of Pink, Most Clashing Colors, and Most Aromatic (yup, that’s what it says… but think ‘for girls’ and not “for boys’! =D). Johanna got third in most creative, and here’s her car on the right. It’s a cool racing shoe!

And here’s Michaela’s car, on the right, a pink bowtie car. She got second for most creative use for pink and third in most aromatic:

The AHG group had a lot of entries! This is the first year they’ve done it and I think it will be an annual favorite now.

Later, the Cub Scouts had their races. Benjamin wanted to make his car look like my old red Ford Ranger, so that’s what we did. It looked pretty good and was fast enough to get Benjamin a third overall in the race!
